At BIG MOBY Tackle our goal is to provide our customers quality products at an affordable price. We offer
a wide variety of colors and patterns on blades that may not be available at other tackle companies. We use a five step
painting process on the blades using the highest quality paint on the market, which results in a superior finish. BIG
MOBY Tackle is 100% owner operated and made in Oregon. Customer satisfaction is guaranteed! Big Moby Tackle is owned by myself, Chris Salter, and my wife, Marjorie Salter.
We purchased the business in November 2007 from Marilyn Peterson, former owner of the Guide Shop, who had started Big Moby
Tackle over 20 years ago and had turned it into an extremely successful tackle business. When she and her husband
decided to retire they put it up for sale and we stumbled upon it. My love for fishing and desire for affordable, quality
tackle is what made me realize that this is the perfect business for me! I custom paint all the blades and make the spinners
out of my home. My wife packages the spinners and does the record-keeping for our business.
Aside from
building and painting spinners I also work full-time as a teacher while my wife works part-time, also as a teacher, and
stays at home with our little girl and soon to arrive baby boy! We are extremely excited about our new business and are working
hard to build quality lures as well as strive for excellent customer service and satisfaction. Please be patient with us as
